EA’s Partners program teases more psuedo-indie games: RustHeart, Lost in Random, Sea of Solitude - lillibridgeaceis1966

EA didn't hold a news conference today, nor did it forget some room in its published stream schedule for any unannounced games—but they do be! There's no Front line III, nobelium Need for Speed happening display, and by all odds no Skate 4. But in a behind-closed-doors presentation, EA did recommit to a stable of pseudo-indie studios, including returning stars A Outlet's Hazelight and Fe's Zoink, summation Velan Studios and Glowmade. We also saw many footage of Jo-Mei's upcoming Oversea of Solitude(pictured above), which releases July 5.

Unfortunately Hazelight's Josef Fares wasn't in the room for questions, though in a prerecorded message helium had some choice words almost indie studios, saying they're about "Fun, focalize, and" some other F-word that my editor plausibly doesn't desire me to publish. Gotta dear Josef.

We didn't get many details what Fares and Co. are impermanent on though, which is a shame. I'm curious what he follows up A Issue with, if only because Hazelight's games are always eldritch and singular. A Exit wasn't perfect, or even good at multiplication, just information technology was certainly memorable. All Fares said is "It's co-op again…You're gonna love it."

Velan didn't announce anything either. Give way Karthik Bala was on-hand to say it was an online loaded-service game, with a mete out of rhetoric virtually "nothing you've seen ahead," but…that's it. Maybe we'll see Velan and Hazelight at Ea Play 2020.

Zoink declared Lost in Random though, described by Klaus Lyngeled as a "deficient RPG" with a significant stochastic component. That sounds same a rogue-the likes of, though nobody used those words on-stage.

And Glowmade is working on a game called RustHeart. "We went to the pub and started thinking about all the things that inspire us, like Iron Giant," same Glowmade's Jonny Hopper. That's certainly enough to pique my interest, though like the rest of these we didn't get much of a look at it. It's an action-RPG though, and Hopper said "There's this robot you build that's completely unique to you," presumably the supporter. I'm picturing Star Wars: Droid Works personally.

If only we could be so propitious.

Anyway, there isn't a ton of details or footage for any of these. It's easy to empathise why EA didn't include this atomic number 3 part of the official agenda, because the short sizzle reel seems way much suited to a tight news conference format than the deeper one-half-hour streams Ea's been doing all day. I still think IT's neat EA funds so umpteen small titles though. Not all have been amazing, but it's fresh to see EA getting even to its artist-central, "Throne a computer make you cry?" roots in some pocket-size way.

Stay tuned completely week for more E3 coverage from United States of America present at PCWorld, and anticipate Sea of Solitude on July 5. A game that focuses connected depression? Really interested therein one.
